Some people already now this but Pootie has reflux and this past year it has been getting a lot worse. Her old doctor put her on some medicine to help it but I hated to give it to her every day. Well when we switched doctors I talked to them about it and they had us go to a Gastroenterologist last Tuesday. We talked to them about what was going on and they did another blood draw which went a ton better then the last one. The conclusion was that they are pretty sure chocolate is what is making her throw up and we are supposed to remove it from her diet. Okay, that is a lot easier said then done. We are talking about the child that wakes up in the morning and the first thing she asks for is some type of chocolate.
Well it has been a week and she has not thrown up once! We have not completely taken chocolate away but have severely limited it. We have given her things that contained small amounts of chocolate and she has done fine. She is not able to have chocolate milk or chocolate shakes/icecream since the doctor said those are the worse chocolate items to give her. If she throws up at anytime after taking away the chocolate she will need to go in for a upper GI x-ray and more tests. Hopefully this works and we won't need to go back in.

Ooh, I feel your pain. Sassy has been chocolate free for about 2 weeks, and it's tough! Her favorite thing for breakfast used to be chocolate cheerios, and she loves chocolate milk, chocolate ice cream, etc...
Glad to hear it seems to be working, though. Hopefully she will not have to go throught the icky barium drink for the GI. Diet midfications are TOUGH, but manageable, as we are learning. Keep us posted!
